 The cultural and educational project of the National Union of Calligraphers and Contemporary museum of calliraphy "International Exhibition of Calligraphy" will be held in October-November, 2009 under the aegis of UNESCO (UN Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization).
On May 22 the UNESCO Commission of the Russian Federation officially awarded the status to the project. Its stated purpose is to contribute to peace and security by promoting international collaboration through education, science, and culture in order to further universal respect for justice, the rule of law, and the human rights and fundamental freedoms proclaimed in the UN Charter.
