Predictably, Rome has turned out to be a very productive fairground for the
International Exhibition of Calligraphy. But it is small wonder in the country where there was first born a vibrant clear art. We had a pleasure to meet a really uncommon person – an Italian calligrapher
Massimo Polello.
Alexey Shaburov and Massimo Polello at his studio
Mr. Shaburov and Massimo Polello met in the creative studio environment in one of the narrow streets of Rome. Massimo showed his last masterpieces and told about his creative plans.
Moments of art
The master-calligrapher promised to create a new work and to give it to the
Contemporary museum of calliraphy. Moreover, Massimo agreed to make us a unique chef-d’oeuvre details of which you will know later on.
Staying with his visit to Italy Alexey Shaburov also met with another “star” of Italian calligraphy. Barbara Calzolari devoted 25 years of her life to the fashion business, but all that time she kept calligraphy in mind. Barbara is a master of the pointed pen and she prefers to write on some unusual materials. For example, she wrote on an old t-shirt, and on a tabletop. Of course, many of her works are done in a very classical calligraphy.
Barbara Calzolari
Barbara showed great interest in the II International exhibition of calligraphy, and we hope that soon we will have one more bright master of calligrapher join our project.
